PRESS: United Aircraft Corporation, Russian Helicopters can merge
MOSCOW, Feb 1 (PRIME) -- United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) can be united with holding Russian Helicopters, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday, citing two executives of companies in the defense industry and a government source.
President Vladimir Putin supported an idea by Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov to use funds of industrial holding Rostec, parent company of Russian Helicopters, to finance MC-21 passenger aircraft production by companies owned by UAC, the sources said.
One of the executives also said that a draft presidential order including stipulation of a merger between the companies has been prepared and if signed, the merger will be completed in 18 months.
